Faye Skaggs Faye Miller Skaggs, 95, of Pawnee, Illinois, died Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2022, at Concordia Village in Springfield. Faye was born Aug. 7, 1927, in Taylorville, a daughter of Joseph Reuben and Rey Ethel Younker Miller. Faye met Eugene Edward Skaggs at a roller rink, and they were married Feb. 20, 1949, at First United Methodist Church in Springfield. They celebrated 63 wonderful years of marriage until Gene’s death in 2012. Faye also was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Joan Edwards and a brother, Dean Miller. … Read More

Sullivan celebrates America’s 250th

The annual Fourth of July parade kicked off a fun filled day of celebration hosted by the Sullivan American Legion Saturday.  Wyman Park was the next destination for the always entertaining watermelon eating contest, turtle races and sack races. At dusk, an amazing fireworks display capped off the festivities. More photos can be found on page 12.
