LLC Fall Semester Enrollment Trends Positive

•September 21, 2022• Fall 2022 enrollment is up at Lake Land College. With more than 3,700 students enrolled for fall, Lake Land is experiencing 4.6% increase in full time equivalency or FTE and a 2.7% increase in headcount. According to the 10th day enrollment report, the college saw significant increases in students starting their education at Lake Land College, returning to finish a degree and those transferring from another institution. Governor Pritzker Adjusts COVID-19 Requirements to Address Current Needs

•September 21, 2022• As part of his continuing plan to carefully unwind the state’s COVID-19 executive orders, Governor Pritzker last Thursday updated testing requirements for school and childcare personnel, rescinding the requirement that unvaccinated employees in these sectors test twice weekly. County Awards ARPA Funds to Three Organizations

•September 21, 2022• by Crystal Reed NP Writer Three more organizations were awarded American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds during the Thursday, September 15, Moultrie County Board meeting. The board approved a motion to award $80,000 to Moultrie County Animal Control, an additional $280,000 to the Moultrie County Beacon and $75,000 to the United Methodist Church. The animal control will use the money to add on to the current facility to house cats. The Moultrie County Beacon’s amount is due to loss of revenue during COVID. He took one bite from his barbeque sandwich and then left to greet the crowd. Sparrows Toy Run

•September 21, 2022• The Sparrows Toy Run will be held on Saturday, September 24. Sign up is at the Lovington American Legion Post from 11 am to Noon that day. Stops will be announced the day of the run, final stop at Jerry’s East End in Lovington. Sign up fee is a toy. All toys donated will benefit Lovington families. Sullivan celebrates America’s 250th

The annual Fourth of July parade kicked off a fun filled day of celebration hosted by the Sullivan American Legion Saturday.  Wyman Park was the next destination for the always entertaining watermelon eating contest, turtle races and sack races. At dusk, an amazing fireworks display capped off the festivities. More photos can be found on page 12.
