•June 29, 2022• by Jerry L. Ginther NP Guest Writer As far back as I can remember, Sullivan has always celebrated the Fourth of July with a carnival and fireworks. The week of the carnival always brought some excitement to the community. For a few days it provided some afternoon entertainment and colorful nightlife for our little town. The swirling, multi-colored lights on the rides created a festive atmosphere and the laughter and excited shrieks from the riders could be heard for many blocks. … Read More

News Progress Posted on June 29, 2022 by webmasterJune 29, 2022

•June 29, 2022• By Jim Baumann NP Guest Writer What I know about sports you could stick in my eye and I’d still be able to see. Senior Expo a success

News Progress

Photo Submitted

On Friday, September 4th, Mid-Illinois Senior Services (MISS) was abuzz with activity and a good time was had by all during MISS’ yearly Senior Expo. Local businesses attended to provide helpful information to local seniors, and the staff of MISS was on hand to answer questions, sign people up for services (including Medicare Part ‘D’ enrollments which are fast approaching), as well as provide a free lunch. Many local businesses and individuals donated a wide variety of goods to be sold at the Expo, with all funds raised going directly back into the services MISS provides to local seniors and a much-needed roof repair.
