•September 8, 2021• SOV Football Sullivan/Okaw Valley dropped its second game of the year with a 50-6 loss to Newton at Newton Friday. Sullivan scored its touchdown on a pass play in the second quarter. Newton took a 30-point lead into halftime. For SOV, Kyle Corkill was 8-for-12 passing for 104 yards, including the touchdown pass, and he rushed for 31 yards. Will Dawkins finish with 32-yards receiving on two catches. Ryan Villalobos caught one pass for 64 yards, and Trey McRill totaled 38 yards rushing. SOV is set to hit he road Friday to take on Tuscola. … Read More

County Board Legislative Committee Recommends Changes To Cannabis Ordinance

•September 8, 2021• by Crystal Reed NP Writer The Moultrie County Board Legislative Committee met Friday, September 3, and voted to recommend changes to the cannabis business establishments ordinance to the board. According to county board chairman Dave McCabe, they were required by state ordinance to pass an ordinance relative to allowing or prohibiting cannabis businesses by December 2019. Orchestra Performance Season

Sullivan Elementary School recently received 60 backpacks filled with school supplies through Amazon’s “Together, We Give Back to School” campaign. End of the Line Tackle & Bait, an Amazon delivery partner, nominated Sullivan Elementary for the program, and the school’s submission was selected to receive the donation. Pictured (left to right) are Cameron Martin, Taylor Lilly, James Martin, Marla Martin and Angela McRill following the July 27 delivery.
