Council Approves Lease Agreement For 304 S. Hamilton

•April 14, 2021• By Crystal Reed NP Writer The Sullivan City Council approved a lease agreement for 304 S. Hamilton St. during their meeting on Monday night. The premises are for the business purpose of housing city operations and administrative offices. •April 14, 2021• SOV Football The Sullivan-Okaw Valley football team could not find its first win against perennial powerhouse Central A&M Friday night. SOV lost 48-6 and is scheduled to play Clinton High School at 7 p.m. at Victory Field Friday. Ian Plank scored SOV’s lone touchdown on a reception from quarterback Luke Vander Burgh with 10:35 left in the fourth quarter. Central A&M led SOV 41-0 at halftime and 14-0 after the first quarter. NAMI Family to Family Class in Mattoon Starts May 4

Three Generations of Bales Build Ramps for AmBuCs

•April 14, 2021• The small town of Sullivan and the surrounding area have been blessed with an active ramp building program of the local AmBuCs chapter. At the center of this activity is member “Big Jim” Bales, father and grandfather of two other members, making three generations of Bales AmBuCs. The ongoing ramp building program is “as needed” with the requests for specific people arriving through the chapter network of about 50 members. Plans Underway for Re-Opening of The Little Theatre

•April 14, 2021• The Little Theatre On The Square announced three shows slated to open in the fall of 2021. The King and Marilyn will run October 15 through the 24 for 12 performances. The Marvelous Wonderettes will run November 5 through the 14 for 12 performances. Both of these shows were originally part of the 2020 Summer Season and the Theatre is thrilled to be able to bring them to stage this fall. For Christmas, the Theatre will produce a brand new holiday revue called We Need a “Little” Christmas, running from December 3 through the 19 for 18 performances. Tickets for these shows will go on sale in August 2021. … Read More

Sullivan Elementary School recently received 60 backpacks filled with school supplies through Amazon’s “Together, We Give Back to School” campaign. End of the Line Tackle & Bait, an Amazon delivery partner, nominated Sullivan Elementary for the program, and the school’s submission was selected to receive the donation. Pictured (left to right) are Cameron Martin, Taylor Lilly, James Martin, Marla Martin and Angela McRill following the July 27 delivery.
