C.E.F.S. Receives Grant

•April 14, 2021• To help ease the ongoing needs of Illinoisans created by the COVID-19 pandemic, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois (BCBSIL) has awarded C.E.F.S. Economic Opportunity Corporation a $20,000 grant as part of BCBSIL’s latest round of giving aimed at helping the helpers. “This generous award from BCBSIL COVID-19 Community Collaboration Fund could not have come at a better time” says Cindy Mayer, Director of Homeless Services. “We will be able to meet the needs of the unsheltered in our communities. OVHS Grad Named NCAA-II Player of the Year

•April 14, 2021• Paige Robinson, a 5’10” junior guard from Bethany, helped lead Drury University girls’ basketball team to a 24-2 season that ended with a loss in the NCAA-II National Championship game. Sullivan Elementary School recently received 60 backpacks filled with school supplies through Amazon’s “Together, We Give Back to School” campaign. End of the Line Tackle & Bait, an Amazon delivery partner, nominated Sullivan Elementary for the program, and the school’s submission was selected to receive the donation. Pictured (left to right) are Cameron Martin, Taylor Lilly, James Martin, Marla Martin and Angela McRill following the July 27 delivery.
