Sullivan Vball Loses

•March 31, 2021• by Jason Brown NP Sports The Sullivan volleyball team competed in two Central Illinois Conference matches and one nonconference match this past week. Sullivan lost all three matches. Thursday night, March 25, Sullivan traveled to Clinton to take on the Maroons in a CIC matchup. Sullivan lost the first set 25-22 but battled back to win a close second set, 26-24. 10 Bones On The Marrowbone Barbecue Cookoff Held

The 10 Bones On The Marrowbone barbecue competition was held to benefit the Bethany Fire Department. According to competitor and organizer Curtis Robinson the event drew 18 competitors and three food vendors. 25 Years Ago This Week The Sullivan City Council approved an annexation agreement on subdivision property owned by Ron and Sharon White and Wayne Gillenwater. The owners of the property must now petition for annexation into the city. The Sullivan Singers brought home the grand champion trophy from the New Orleans ShowChoir competition to close out a successful season. They also placed first in vocal sound, choreography and show. The Sullivan school district was awarded a 1996 Bright Star award. Only 89 school districts out of 913 districts in the state have won this honor. The award criteria is based … Read More

“Together, We Give Back to School”

Sullivan Elementary School recently received 60 backpacks filled with school supplies through Amazon’s “Together, We Give Back to School” campaign. End of the Line Tackle & Bait, an Amazon delivery partner, nominated Sullivan Elementary for the program, and the school’s submission was selected to receive the donation. Pictured (left to right) are Cameron Martin, Taylor Lilly, James Martin, Marla Martin and Angela McRill following the July 27 delivery.
