Taylorville Man Charged With Reckless Homicide

•March 31, 2021• Dylan Tucker, 25, of Taylorville, has been charged with reckless homicide in relation to a traffic crash August 19, 2020, in Moultrie County. On March 18, 2021, Tucker was charged with one count of reckless homicide and multiple traffic offenses which allege that on August 19, 2020, he was driving a vehicle on Moultrie County Road 400E at an excessive speed, failed to stop at a stop sign at CR 400E and CR 2400N, resulting in a crash which caused the death of Michael Castelli, who was driving a motorcycle westbound on CR2400N. •March 31, 2021• Football The St. Teresa Bulldogs spoiled Sullivan-Okaw Valley football team’s homecoming game Friday night at Victory Field. Sullivan fell behind 27-0 in the first quarter and 48-0 at halftime. The Redskins eventually lost 68-0. Volleyball The Okaw Valley volleyball team split a pair of Lincoln Prairie Conference games this past week. The Timberwolves knocked off rival Arthur-Lovington-Atwood-Hammond but lost to Tri-County. Mobile Food Pantry

•March 31, 2021• The University of Illinois Extension, in cooperating partnership with sponsors Decatur Catholic Charities and Lovington Ambulance Service, will be holding a mobile food pantry on Wednesday, April 21 from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm at Lovington Ambulance Service. A mobile food pantry delivers a two week supply of food per family in rural communities. Any individual or family that does not have a steady food supply qualifies to receive food. “Together, We Give Back to School”

Sullivan Elementary School recently received 60 backpacks filled with school supplies through Amazon’s “Together, We Give Back to School” campaign. End of the Line Tackle & Bait, an Amazon delivery partner, nominated Sullivan Elementary for the program, and the school’s submission was selected to receive the donation.
