Michael Christian Duvall of Aurora, Illinois, passed away at the age of 50 on November 24, 2025. Michael was born on March 22, 1975, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Donald Edward and Sandra Paulette (Woolridge) Duvall. Michael graduated from Waubonsie Valley High School in June 1993. He attended Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio, where he became a member of the Gamma Zeta chapter of the Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity. Lady Reds open season with continued domination

After going 11-0 in the conference, the ladies season came to a heartbreaking end at the hands of the Mt. Carmel Lady Aces by just two points. And with that loss, came more loss. Illinois now allows the storage of photo ID, driver’s license on iPhones

Silas Hortenstine receives ‘Outstanding Poster’ award

•November 26, 2025• Silas Hortenstine, a Biological Sciences major from Gays, received the East Central Illinois Section of the American Chemical Society Outstanding Poster Award at the 10th Annual East Central Illinois ACS Undergraduate Research Conference on November 8th at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Hortenstine presented research conducted in the Beck Research Group. His project, supported by an NIH R15 AREA grant (R15GM152890), examines factors that affect carboxylesterase-mediated drug metabolism. Storm leaves damage in its wake

The storm that occurred in the evening hours of June 11th produced wind gusts of up to 70 mph left many locals without power, with many experiencing damage to property ranging from mild to extreme.
