Joyce Artis Joyce Marie Spencer Artis, 91, passed away at 2:40 p.m. Monday January 25, 2021 at Vonderlieth Living Center in Mt. Pulaski, IL. Joyce Marie Spencer was born at her parents’ farm home in Sullivan, the daughter of Herman and Julia (Welch) Spencer. 25 Years Ago This Week The Sullivan School District announced an open house and dedication ceremony for the new elementary school to be held on Sunday, Feb 25. The school district plans on moving into the new facility March 5, less than a year from the beginning of construction. The $5,650,000 total cost included furniture, equipment, landscaping, site development, fees and all construction costs. Sullivan voters approved a $4 million building referendum in March 1994 to build a new 540 student elementary school. The school district added $1,650,000 of cash reserves to build the school. Sullivan City Council Hears Needs and Options Review for City Building

•January 27, 20201• By Crystal Reed NP Writer The Sullivan City Council heard a needs and options review for the city building from Colton Davis of Utz and Associates during their meeting Monday evening. The firm was contacted in November by City Administrator Dan Flannell to do an inspection of the city building. “Together, We Give Back to School”

Sullivan Elementary School recently received 60 backpacks filled with school supplies through Amazon’s “Together, We Give Back to School” campaign. End of the Line Tackle & Bait, an Amazon delivery partner, nominated Sullivan Elementary for the program, and the school’s submission was selected to receive the donation.
