Last Friday evening, Eller while at dinner in Decatur with his girlfriend heard a baby coughing and then choking. He saw the mom of the baby trying to help her choking baby but doing so incorrectly. Jackie Snow Jackie Snow, 69, of Decatur, passed away at 1:45 a.m. Monday, February 1, 2021 in her home with her husband by her side. Celebration of Life services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Reed Funeral Home in Sullivan with Pastor Dickie Johnson and the Rev. Penny Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery. 25 Years Ago This Week The Sullivan School District announced an open house and dedication ceremony for the new elementary school to be held on Sunday, Feb 25. The school district plans on moving into the new facility March 5, less than a year from the beginning of construction. The $5,650,000 total cost included furniture, equipment, landscaping, site development, fees and all construction costs. Sullivan voters approved a $4 million building referendum in March 1994 to build a new 540 student elementary school. The school district added $1,650,000 of cash reserves to build the school.
