•October 28, 2020• By Crystal Reed NP Writer It’s Round-Up time at Sullivan IGA from Nov 1 to Nov 7 giving every customer a chance to help buy turkeys for Moultrie County Food Pantry’s Thanksgiving. “It’s amazing how quickly it adds up,” IGA Manager Pat Stinson said of the ninth annual fundraising event for the food pantry. “The most you can donate is 99 cents and even a penny makes a difference” he continued, noting the week long event contributes some $1,200 annually to the food pantry’s Thanksgiving meal giveaway. … Read More

25 Years Ago This Week The Little Theatre on the Square was installing a 20 ton air conditioning unit and heating system. The Little Theatre on the Square had received two separate grants of $18,970 from the Illinois Arts Council for operating support and a grant of $15,032 from the Tourism Attraction Program, a program of the Illinois Bureau of Tourism Dept of Commerce and Community Affairs to pay for the heat/air project. “Together, We Give Back to School”

Sullivan Elementary School recently received 60 backpacks filled with school supplies through Amazon’s “Together, We Give Back to School” campaign. End of the Line Tackle & Bait, an Amazon delivery partner, nominated Sullivan Elementary for the program, and the school’s submission was selected to receive the donation. Pictured (left to right) are Cameron Martin, Taylor Lilly, James Martin, Marla Martin and Angela McRill following the July 27 delivery.
