Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 7 at McMullin-Young Funeral Home in Sullivan, with Pastor Ed Stevens officiating. •October 28, 2020• It is with saddened hearts that the Moultrie County Health Department (MCHD) confirms a sixth COVID-19 related death of a Moultrie County female resident in her 50s. “We would like to extend our deepest condolences to her family and friends and ask for their privacy during this difficult time,” Angela Hogan, Administrator for the Moultrie County Health Department, said. “The MCHD will release no additional information.” To date, 411 Moultrie County residents have tested positive for COVID-19, which includes five previous COVID-19 related deaths. •October 28, 2020• by Jason Brown NP Sports The Sullivan boys’ and girls’ cross country teams competed in the IHSA Class 1A Cross Country Chrisman Regional Saturday, Oct. 24. For the first time during the season, spectators were allowed to attend the meet provided they maintain social distancing, wore a face covering, and were not allowed on the course at any point. Sullivan Elementary School recently received 60 backpacks filled with school supplies through Amazon’s “Together, We Give Back to School” campaign. End of the Line Tackle & Bait, an Amazon delivery partner, nominated Sullivan Elementary for the program, and the school’s submission was selected to receive the donation.
