This is an opportunity for parents to visit our schools and spend time learning about the happenings in their children’s classrooms. All IDPH guidelines regarding masks, social distancing, and cleaning will be followed. New for this year, parents will also have the option to attend parent teacher conferences remotely if they choose. Sullivan Boys Golf Takes Second at Sectionals
By Jason Brown NP Sports The Sullivan boys’ golf team took second place in the IHSA Class 1A Golf Sectionals at Ironhorse Golf Course in Tuscola Tuesday, Oct. 13. During any other season, the Redskins would have been moving onto the state tournament the following week. Instead, this year, because of Covid-19, the IHSA has ended the season with sectional meets. Sullivan scored a 339 in the 10-team sectional, while Paso-Gridley won the sectional meet with a team score of 320. •October 21, 2020• On Tuesday, October 13 the AFSCME Retiree Sub-Chapter #87 held a Zoom conference meeting for current members, new members and retired seniors. President, David Spinner called the meeting to order and welcomed everyone. Spinner thanked Louis Goseland for hosting the event. •October 21, 2020• Two Sullivan Lions Club members were awarded long-time membership chevrons by Lions District 1-M Governor, Bill Wallpe, of Danville. Steve Mayberry was honored for his 30 years of membership, and Robert V. Elder was recognized for being a 55 year Lion. 25 Years Ago This Week Moultrie County’s 740 businesses generated more than $891,000 in sales tax revenue for city and county governments during fiscal year 1995. According to the annual report from Illinois Dept of Revenue, the county’s businesses also paid $3.1 million in the state’s 5 percent sales tax. Sullivan (with 274 businesses) and Arthur with 228 businesses were the county’s most prosperous communities, generating municipal sales tax receipts for the year of $398,138 and $257,114 respectively ($90,069 of that from the portion of Arthur in Moultrie County). … Read More
