Ten Year Old Drowns At Sullivan Beach

Prayer Vigil Planned •July 29, 2020• By Crystal Reed Janiya Bennett, 10 year old Sullivan Elementary School student drowned at Sullivan Beach Sunday afternoon. Mo Co Sheriff Chris Sims said the MCSO received the call to the beach at 3:49 p.m. Sunday where the girl had disappeared while playing in the water according to a group of swimmers. Key metric is highest it’s been since June 11 By Jerry Nowicki Capitol News Illinois Illinois’ seven-day rolling positivity rate for COVID-19 tests continued to rise through the weekend, reaching 3.8 percent — more than a full percentage point higher than it was at the beginning of the month. The positivity rate for tests completed has increased for seven of the past eight days, ticking upward from 2.9 percent on July 19. •July 23, 2020• The Moultrie County Health Department (MCHD) has confirmed four more cases of the novel coronavirus-2019 (COVID-19) in Moultrie County. The individuals range in age from 30s to 80s and all are recovering at home in isolation. Public health officials have been notifying all close contacts. To date, 1,681 Moultrie County residents have been tested for COVID-19. Of those tests, 41 have been confirmed positive for COVID-19 and 28 are no longer in isolation.
