Sullivan Girls Bounce Back Beating St. Teresa

•February 5, 2020• By Jason Brown NP Sports Editor After losing to St. Teresa in overtime in the championship game of the Central Illinois Conference Tournament Thursday, the Sullivan girls’ basketball team bounced back to defeated the Bulldogs in a regular-season CIC matchup on senior night Monday. After a back-and-forth first quarter, the Redskins went into the half trailing 21-19. The Bulldogs extended that lead to 35-31 heading into the fourth quarter. OV defeated Cerro Gordo/Bement on Senior Night Thursday, Jan. 20, but lost to Tri-County, Monday. Against the Broncos Thursday, OV came out on top of a back-and-forth game during Senior Night. Before a crowd of 20 people the school board voted to proceed with a property tax referendum. The Bethany Mustangs beat Illiopolis 62-49 in the opening round of the tournament at Blue Mound. Saturday against Central A&M, the Raiders doubled Sullivan 66-33 for the win. CAM outscored Sullivan 25-10 in the first quarter and continued its lead from there.
