Decades is SHS HC Theme

•October 2, 2019• Sullivan High School Student Council picked Decade’s as the theme for this years Homecoming. Each class has picked a different decade for their float and window decorating. New Awards Mark 90 Years Of Alumni Homecoming Banquets

•October 2, 2019• By Ralph Kirk for the SHS Alumni Association The very first Sullivan Homecoming banquet was held November 2, 1928 in the school gym, alumni were served chicken pie and the Sullivan football team played Arcola. Neither side scored a single point! Alumni awards were given to Dr. Butler, Bo Wood, Tiny Hill, and C. B. Shuman. Many Sullivan SAA banquet alumni and SAA award winners have gone on to remarkable careers that helped improve the area and the world. The Hawks scored first on a short run up the middle with 7:43 left first quarter to take an early 7-0 lead. ALAH Volleyball Wins Two in Invitational

•October 2, 2019• By Jason Brown NP Sports Editor The Arthur-Lovington-Atwood-Hammond volleyball team competed in the Arcola Invitational, as well as two Little Prairie Conference matches this past week. Saturday, ALAH finished the Arcola Invitational with a 2-2 record. ALAH defeated Armstrong-Potomac and Arcola but lost to Urbana and Central A&M. In the four games, Mackenzi Bowles finished with 23 kills, four aces and eight digs. Addi Tinkle totaled seven aces, 12 kills, 13 digs and two assists, and Alisha Frederick compiled 51 assists, seven digs and two kills. Little Redskins Activity Program

Two Wins for Okaw Valley High School Volleyball Team

•September 25, 2019• By Jason Brown NP Sports Editor The Okaw Valley volleyball team bookended the St. Anthony Invitation with two wins and loss in another busy week. Monday night, the Timberwolves defeated Edinburg in straight sets, 25-14, 25-21. Kate Jeffers recorded four kills and three aces, and Paige Coleman collected five kills, six digs and three aces. April Decesaro added six digs, and Grace Bunfill dished out nine assists. Macie Fleshner hit five kills, while Avery Bruns recorded two blocks. BASO Car Show a success

The Bethany Advocates and Support Organization hosted its annual car show on August 22 at Crowder Park. The perfect afternoon weather bought out 52 entries and many enthusiastic onlookers. Greg Fitzgerald’s 1966 Pontiac GTO took home Best off Show honors.
