Knights Engage a Plethora of Ball Carriers for Second Win of the Season

•September 11, 2019• By Jason Brown NP Sports Editor For the first time since 2014, the Arthur-Lovington-Atwood-Hammond football team has started the season 2-0. An Eight Match Week for ALAH Volleyball Team

•September 11, 2019• By Jason Brown NP Sports Editor The Arthur-Lovington-Atwood-Hammond volleyball team finished a busy week, competing in eight matches. The Knights lost Monday night to Monticello 25-11, 25-20. Alisha Frederick dished out 10 assists, and Mackenzi Bowles and Cheyenne Chupp each had four kills. Charley Condill added a team-high nine digs, and Abby Abercrombie recorded three digs and a kill. Saturday, ALAH went 2-3 the Casey-Westfield Tourney. The Knights split two matches against Salt Fork, losing 25-19, 25-22 and winning 25-22, 19-25, and 15-7. ALAH also defeated Tuscola 25-22, 25-23. … Read More

•September 11, 2019• Matthew Smith and Indelible Grace return to Elim Springs Church of Jesus Christ for a concert Wednesday, Sept. 18. This third appearance by the Nashville based musician and his band kicks off a nationwide tour in Sullivan which ends up in Bremerton, Wash. on Nov. 9. “We have been to Elim Springs twice before and were well received,” Smith said, noting he reached out to church pastor Vanessa Patient and asked whether they were interested. Walk to End Alzheimers

•September 11, 2019• The seventh annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s is Saturday, Sept. 14 at the Sullivan V.F.W. located on Route 32 south of Sullivan. Eastview Terrace of Sullivan, a Petersen Healthcare facility, coordinates the annual benefit with all proceeds donated to the National Alzheimer’s Association. Honor Blood Drive at Post 68

River has endured many health problems, surgeries and blood transfusions in her short four year life. Okaw Valley Volleyball Remains Undefeated

The Timberwolves defeated Sullivan, Cowden Herrick/Beecher City and Decatur LSA. Against Sullivan last Tuesday, OV won in straight sets, 25-22, 25-18. For OV, Kate Jeffers had a game-high 12 kills, as well as two blocks. Paige Coleman collected six digs, three aces and five kills, and April Decesaro had nine digs and three aces. The Bethany Advocates and Support Organization hosted its annual car show on August 22 at Crowder Park. The perfect afternoon weather bought out 52 entries and many enthusiastic onlookers. Greg Fitzgerald’s 1966 Pontiac GTO took home Best off Show honors.
