Max Doris wins the big bass award with this 5.09lb catch at the Sangamon Valley Open hosted at Clinton Lake on Sunday, October 22. Max is a freshman at Okaw Valley High School. Sophomore Eric Boomer also attended as a member of the Okaw Valley Fishing Team.

Sullivan Volleyball Falls to Wooden Shoes

The Sullivan volleyball team dropped its last three matches, including a first round loss to Teutopolis in the Class 2A Shelbyville Regional Monday night.

The regional loss against the Wooden Shoes (25-10, 25-13) ended the Redskins’ season.

Madi Wall and Maddie Dickens combined 17 for passes, and the team recorded three kills. Read More

Lake Shelbyville Eco-Meet

The 41st Annual Lake Shelbyville Eco-Meet, coordinated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers was held at Camp Camfield Ecological Study Area October 12.

The Eco-Meet is an environmental competition for school students that are in junior high and high school. Junior varsity teams are comprised of four students from grades seven and eight. Varsity teams are made up of four high school students from grades nine through 12. A total of 140 students from 35 schools competed in this year’s event. Read More

Blue Dolphins Bring Home Trophies

Sullivan Blue Dolphins started out the 2017-2018 season bringing home 18 high point winners from the Coach Schuber Memorial Invite at Olympia.

ALAH Volleyball Undefeated in Little Okaw Conference

In preparation for a regional run, the Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond volleyball team defeated Decatur Lutheran Thursday and Arcola last Tuesday to push its record to 26-3 overall and undefeated at 7-0 in the Little Okaw Valley Conference.

Against LSA, the Knights won 25-14, 25-7.

Hannah Wallen recorded nine kills and two digs, and Taylor Powell had nine kills, a dig and an assist.

Madison Brown recorded 23 kills, and Marissa Herschberger had four digs. Read More

ALAH Football Closes Season at Villa Grove

The Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond football team dropped its last game of the year to Villa Grove/Heritage 44-7 to end its season.

VGH scored 12 points in the first quarter and 16 in the second to take a commanding lead at half.

Kobe Wells scored the lone touchdown with a 36-yard run down the right side of the field.

He ran the ball five times for 43 yards and caught two passes for 33 yards. Read More

OV Volleyball Team Advances in Regionals

Natalie Jeffers added seven assists and eight digs to help Okaw Valley advance in Regional play.

The Okaw Valley volleyball team defeated Decatur Lutheran in straight sets (25-15, 25-18) to advanced in the Class 1A regional in Bethany Monday night.

Paige Coleman totaled four kills, 10 assists and two blocks.

Natalie Jeffers added seven assists and eight digs, and Sadie Zimmerman had eight assists and two aces.

Kate Jeffers and Madison Vogel each had three kills, and Bella Benning tallied five digs and three aces.

April Decesaro also had five digs, and Kailynn Bobbit had two blocks.

The win advances OV to the semifinals against Cerro Gordo. Read More

Hall is ALAH Cross Country Champ

The Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond placed fourth, and senior Logan Hall was meet champion in the Class 1A Boys’ Cross Country Regional at Shelbyville Saturday.

The Knights’ 113 points advanced them to the sectional meet.

Two Redskin Runners Head to Sectionals

The Sullivan cross-country teams competed in the Class 1A Boys’ Cross Country Regional at Shelbyville Saturday.

Although neither team advanced to sectionals, two Redskins are scheduled to take the trip.

For the girls’ team, sophomore Katherine Kite advanced to sectionals with a 15th place finish and a time of 20:55. Read More

On Tuesday, April 28th, under the direction of Dr. Ian Kinkley, Band Director, the Sullivan Band Program presented its symphonious Spring Band concert, titled “Evening Escapes,” which showcased the magnificent and diverse talents of the Sullivan 6th, 7th and 8th grade bands, combined with the Sullivan High School Band and Jazz Band.
