Mobile Food Pantry

The University of Illinois Extension, in cooperating partnership with Decatur Catholic Charities and Windsor School District, will be holding a mobile food pantry on Wednesday, August 4 from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm at Windsor Grade School. A mobile food pantry delivers a 2 week supply of food per family in rural communities. Any individual or family that does not have a steady food supply qualifies to receive food. No financial information is required. This distribution is open to all, not only residents of Windsor. You must sign up prior to July 28. Call 217-774-9546 during business hours of Monday-Friday 8 am to 4 pm. Once your form is completed by phone, you will be given a number to bring with you on the day of distribution. If you lose your number, you need to bring identification. The food will be distributed according to your household size on June 16, from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm at the Windsor Grade School Cafeteria.
Southern Gospel Concert

There will be a free southern gospel concert featuring Jeff Boston of Lebanon, Mo., on Saturday, July 24 from 6:00 to 7:30 pm at Allenville Christian Church. Jeff is a member of the Declaration 212 recording artist family. He has been singing gospel music since he was 12 and has traveled with several Southern Gospel quartets over the years. He now has a solo ministry. Also performing that night will be local Declaration 212 recording artist Greg Ridenhour. A love offering will be collected to support Jeff’s ministry. There will be finger food fellowship following the concert.
Millikin Dean’s List

Millikin University recently announced the names of the outstanding undergraduates who have been named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2021 semester. Students who attempt 12 graded credits during a fall or spring semester and earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher earn Dean’s List honors. Students earning a perfect 4.00 grade point average on 12 graded credits attempted earn High Dean’s List honors. The students named to the Dean’s List at Millikin University are Marcus Vanausdoll of Arthur, Mackenzie Ruot of Dalton City, Athena Pajer of Lovington, Isabella Benning and Samuel Hagerman, both of Sullivan.
Miss Sullivan Pageants Return

Miss Sullivan Pageants is looking for Little Miss, Junior Miss and Miss contestants to compete for the crowns on Sunday, September 12 at 2 pm. After having to cancel the pageant last year due to Covid, they are ready to get the ball moving on the 2021 pageant. There will be an informational meeting on Sunday, August 29 at 2 pm at a location to be determined. Deadline for signups is August 31. Registration forms are available on the Miss Sullivan Pageants Facebook page.
Plant A Rainbow

Marrowbone Library in Bethany will be having a program on Thursday, July 22 at 1 pm by the Douglas-Hart Nature Center which is called “Plant A Rainbow. The library is located at 216 W. Main in Bethany.

Additions To LLC Fall Honors Lists

Students added to the Fall 2021 Honors Lists that are full time were: Talon Russell, Bethany, President’s List and Logan Stremming, Windsor, President’s List. Students added to the Fall 2021 Honors List that are part time were Macie Fleshner, Findlay, President’s List and Chloe Pantier, Sullivan, President’s List.
Dalton City All Wheel Extravaganza

The 11th Annual Dalton City All Wheel Extravaganza will be Sunday, August 1 from Noon to 5 pm in downtown Dalton City. Registration is $15 and each entry includes a free t-shirt. Goody bags go to the first 75. There will be participant choice trophies and Best of Show. There will also be food and entertainment, vendor booths, a 50/50 drawing, silent auction and door prizes. Community Blood Drive
