Dolphins Compete in Halloween Splash

The Terre Haute Torpedoes hosted the Halloween Splash swim meet  October 25-27 at Terre Haute South High School in Terre Haute, Ind. There, the Sullivan Blue Dolphins competed and brought home the first place team trophy as well as several individual trophies for high point totals for various boys’ and girls’ age groups. After making some changes in their performance all while keeping a strong work ethic, the Sullivan Marching Redskins have seen their efforts pay off in marching band competitions this season.

While honoring their seniors on Senior Night, the Okaw Valley volleyball team gained a victory over the Villa Grove Blue Devils in a 25-9, 25-7 match Thursday.

The Lady Timberwolves came out strong, determined to get a win, and did just that.

OV gained a lead early in the first game and built on it, while Villa Grove’s multiple errors and passing problems aided in their downfall. With sound passing and well-executed plays at the net by junior hitter Blair Monroe and senior setter Mollee Decesaro, OV was able to slide into a 25-9 win. Read More

Dolphins Start Year with Medals and Broken Records

Olympia County Swimmers hosted the 33rd Annual Otter Plunge swim meet October 12-13 at Olympia High School in Stanford. The Sullivan Blue Dolphins competed and brought home 18 out of 24 medals/trophies, while also breaking swim team records, some of which were more than 20 years old. Read More

Sullivan celebrates America’s 250th

The annual Fourth of July parade kicked off a fun filled day of celebration hosted by the Sullivan American Legion Saturday.  Wyman Park was the next destination for the always entertaining watermelon eating contest, turtle races and sack races. At dusk, an amazing fireworks display capped off the festivities. More photos can be found on page 12.
