The Okaw Valley boys’ golf team won the Little Okaw Valley Conference Championship at Eagle Creek Golf Course Saturday.
“We are very happy to win the LOVC,” said OV coach Steve Nickerson. “This was one of goals at the beginning of the year.”
OV scored the low of 347, followed by Tri-Valley’s 374.
Arcola/Arthur-Lovington-Atwood-Hammond placed fourth with a 414. Jacob Butler carried the Purple Riders with an 85 to tie for fifth. Read More

The Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond soccer team defeated Meridian 5-2 in the Decatur Tournament this week.
After a 2-2 tie in the first half, ALAH scored three goals in the second half to put the match away. Read More

OV Golfer is Medalist
Okaw Valley golfer Grace Harlin was individual medalist at the Little Okaw Valley Conference Championship at Eagle Creek Golf Course Saturday.
Harlin scored a low of 96.
Harlin will set her sights on regional action next week for a chance to earn a trip to sectionals.

The Sullivan-Okaw Valley football team took an early lead for the first time this season but could not hold on in the second half against Meridian during homecoming Friday night.
After scoring 21 points in the first half, SOV showed its youth and lack of depth and eventual lost 52-21.
“We played well defensively and offensively in the first half,” said SOV coach Andy Kerley. “The kids came out very motivated to play well for homecoming, and we executed very well in the first half.”
SOV scored first on a 5-yard run by Luke Harlin with 5:54 left in the first quarter. Read More

The Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond boys’ cross country team placed 13th out of 26 teams in the Joseph-Ogden Spartan Classic Saturday.
Logan Hall was meet champion with a personal record time of 14:24.2. Read More

Sullivan boys’ golf team finally dropped its first match of the year and ended its regular season with a 19-1 overall record.
Last Wednesday, Effingham defeated the Redskins by only two strokes 174-176.
Caden Ellis led Sullivan with a low of 39, and Leighton Burcham scored a 44. Read More

The boys’ team placed first above Shelbyville, Cowden-Herrick-Beecher City, Pana, and Piasa Southwestern. Read More

The Sullivan girls’ golf team placed second in a triangular against Effingham and Altamont and third in a triangular against Mattoon and Champaign Central this past week.

The Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond football team dropped a Little Okaw Valley (Northwest) Conference game against Argenta-Oreana 53-13 in Arthur Friday.
“I was pleased with our effort and compete level which was not evident the week before versus LSA,” said ALAH coach Dale Schuring.
A-O jumped out to a 16-0 first quarter lead and put the game away in the third quarter, outscoring the Knights 28-6.
“I thought Marcus Vanausdoll was outstanding on defense,” said Schuring. “He was playing a new position and made plays all over the field.” Read More
