Foodmobile in Sullivan Saturday

Eastern Illinois Foodbank will be distributing a truckload of food to hungry area families. The distribution will be held at Sullivan VFW Post 6410 (1146 State Hwy 32, Sullivan) on June 7 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. All Moultrie County residents who meet income eligibility criteria are welcome (see table below). Those attending are asked to bring bags or boxes to transport food.  Read More

May in Illinois: Warmer Than Average, Dry in the West

The statewide average temperature for May in Illinois was 63.9 degrees F, which is 1.2 degrees above average. This is the first month for temperatures to be above average in Illinois since October 2013, according to Illinois State Climatologist Jim Angel, Illinois State Water Survey, University of Illinois. Landmark torn down



News Progress


The home at the intersection of Route 133 and Route 32 in Lovington was torn down last week. The house had become a major hazard after a box truck struck it, taking out a large portion of the north wall. The owners had the home demolished after it was deemed a public safety issue.
