American Cancer Society to “Paint the Town Purple” in Celebration of Relay For Life of Moultrie County

The American Cancer Society will “Paint the Town Purple” in celebration of its annual Relay For Life event, Friday, June 13. Relay For Life volunteers will be encouraging area groups, churches, businesses, and homes by decorating the towns for the Relay For Life of Moultrie County. By “painting the towns” of Moultrie County, the community can join the American Cancer Society’s signature fundraising event. Read More

OV Volleyball Camp Dates

Two separate volleyball camps will be held in July at the Okaw Valley high school gym.

The first, open to those in grades seven and eight, will run 6-8 p.m. July 14-18. The second camp will be held 6-8 p.m. July 21-24 for grades four, five, and six. Read More

Landmark torn down



News Progress


The home at the intersection of Route 133 and Route 32 in Lovington was torn down last week. The house had become a major hazard after a box truck struck it, taking out a large portion of the north wall. The owners had the home demolished after it was deemed a public safety issue.
