Lights at the park

Christmas in the Park was held on Saturday, November 30th at the Thomas L Conn Community Park in Lovington. Families came to see Santa, the Grinch, Olaf, and enjoy festive music while indulging in hot chocolate and sweets. Hometown Love started the tradition of illuminating the park.  When the organization dissolved, the board members decided to use the remaining funds to purchase a gorgeous set of angel wings; make sure to take a walk through the park, and get a picture with the wings. Sullivan boys basketball off to even split

•December 11, 2024• by E. Scott England The Sullivan Redskins’ basketball team started the season with a 54-40 win over St. Teresa. That was followed by a close loss to Windsor/Stew-Stras by the score of 53-60. The team was back in action last Friday and Saturday against Armstrong and Paris, respectively. They lost to Armstrong (58-78) before evening their record against Paris (63-49). Cam Watkins returns as a threat from not only behind the arc but from mid-range as well. On Route 133 between Lovington and Arthur, power poles fell as a result of the storm systems that hit central Illinois in two waves on Wednesday, June 17th. These storms left many without power and caused widespread damage throughout the area, including confirmed tornado touchdowns in nearby counties.
