•February 19, 2025• Applications are now available for the 2025 Irrevocable Scholarship Program available through the Sullivan American Legion Post 68. The one year $1,500 (four year, annually renewable) scholarship is for high school seniors who will be graduating from public high schools in Moultrie County and high school seniors that are descendants of members in good standing of the Sullivan Post 68. The application packet is available from high school counselors at Okaw Valley High School in Bethany and the Sullivan High School. Allied Capital Title donates to SBL Regional Cancer Center

Allied Capital Title offices of Charleston, Mattoon, Shelbyville, Tuscola and Sullivan recently donated $640 to the SBL Health Foundation to support patients receiving care at the SBL Regional Cancer Center. During the month of October, the offices donated a portion of closing costs to the Regional Cancer Center. •February 12, 2025• Moultrie County has been issued a final property assessment equalization factor of 1.0000, according to David Harris, director of the Illinois Department of Revenue (IDOR). The property assessment equalization factor, often called the “multiplier,” is the method used to achieve uniform property assessments among counties, as required by law. This equalization is particularly important because some of the state’s 6,600 local taxing districts overlap into two or more counties (e.g., school districts, junior college districts, fire protection districts).
