Bethany’s Kate Jeffers graduates

•August 21, 2024• Bethany resident Kate Jeffers celebrated a major academic milestone on May 12, 2024, graduating from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelor of Science in Speech and Hearing Sciences. Kate was honored with the distinction of Highest Honors and was a consistent presence on the Dean’s List during her four years at Illinois. In addition to her degree, Kate earned a minor in Disability Studies, which she pursued while studying abroad at University College Dublin in Ireland. Microchip clinic

•August 21, 2024• The Village of Lovington will be hosting a PAWS Microchip clinic on Sunday, September 15th from 1-2:30 in the afternoon at the Lovington Fire House located at 120 South County Street. The base fee for a microchip is $15, cats and dogs are welcome however dogs must be leashed and cats must be crated in a carrier. On Route 133 between Lovington and Arthur, power poles fell as a result of the storm systems that hit central Illinois in two waves on Wednesday, June 17th. These storms left many without power and caused widespread damage throughout the area, including confirmed tornado touchdowns in nearby counties.
