Library Summer Reading Program

•May 26, 2021• Windsor Storm Memorial Public Library’s Summer Reading program “Reading Is Sweet” starts in June. Join them on Tuesdays in June for the program. Ages 3-7 will meet from 9:30 am to 10:30 am and ages 8-12 meet from 11 am to Noon. Anyone can attend. A library card is only necessary if you will be checking books out. You can read books from your personal library and still get credit. Children ages 3-7 are expected to read at least five books a week and children ages 8-12 are expected to read at least 60 minutes a week. … Read More

•May 26, 2021• Softball The Okaw Valley softball team played one game this week, and it was a doozy. The Timberwolves hosted Arcola Wednesday, May 19, in Bethany. The Purple Riders scored a run in the third inning, but Okaw Valley countered with a run in the fourth inning to tie the game. The Timberwolves plated two more runs in the sixth, but Arcola scored two runs in the top of the seventh to send the game into extra innings tied at three. City Council Votes To Raise Water and Sewer Rates

•May 26, 2021• by Crystal Reed NP Writer The Sullivan City Council voted to raise water and sewer rates four percent during Monday night’s meeting. Agenda items for raising gas and electric rates were on the agenda as well, but the council voted to retain the current rates. “Together, We Give Back to School”

Sullivan Elementary School recently received 60 backpacks filled with school supplies through Amazon’s “Together, We Give Back to School” campaign. End of the Line Tackle & Bait, an Amazon delivery partner, nominated Sullivan Elementary for the program, and the school’s submission was selected to receive the donation. Pictured (left to right) are Cameron Martin, Taylor Lilly, James Martin, Marla Martin and Angela McRill following the July 27 delivery.
