•March 10, 2021• The OV scholarship and OV blessings fundraiser Drive thru dinner will be held on March 22 from 4:30 to 6:30 pm at the Findlay Legion. The menu is homemade chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, green beans, dinner rolls and white or chocolate Texas sheet cake. Advance tickets only are $8.00 and ticket deadline is March 19. Donald England Donald A. England, 94, of Kirkwood, Missouri, passed away peacefully with his two daughters by his side on the evening of February 25, 2021, in Sunset Hills, Missouri. He loved and is loved by his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph D. and Marie E. England; wife of 60 years, Laura June;  brother, Harold England, and sisters, Helen Thomas, Doris Lindley, and Wilma Stephens. 25 Years Ago This Week The Sullivan City Council agreed to purchase two city lots west of the city’s electric plant for storage and possible expansion. The ordinance authorizing the purchase of the 50ft wide and 200 feet deep property was discussed following a closed session. Amy Stone, who owns the property agreed to sell it to the city for $19,500. Amy Noel Smith, the Dec 26 baby whose life was endangered by a respiratory infection was released from the hospital last month. Lawrence Manley Lawrence Wayne Manley, 80, of Windsor, passed away, 10:40 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield. Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2021, at McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Sullivan. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home. Dicks Pharmacy Opens At New Location

•March 3, 2021• By Crystal Reed NP Writer Dicks Pharmacy in Arthur has reopened after being closed for four months due to structural issues beyond their control. Last October, the ceiling caved in at their old location. According to owner Cindi Reed, the pharmacy had been at that site for 100 years and had not been renovated since 1965. She said that after the ceiling collapsed, they chose to stay closed and relocate. “It was the best option for what we wanted to do for the future,” Reed said. LLC to Offer New Mental Health Resources to Students

“Together, We Give Back to School”

Sullivan Elementary School recently received 60 backpacks filled with school supplies through Amazon’s “Together, We Give Back to School” campaign. End of the Line Tackle & Bait, an Amazon delivery partner, nominated Sullivan Elementary for the program, and the school’s submission was selected to receive the donation. Pictured (left to right) are Cameron Martin, Taylor Lilly, James Martin, Marla Martin and Angela McRill following the July 27 delivery.
