•March 3, 2021• Sullivan Youth Baseball/Softball registration for 2021 is now open until March 6, 12:00pm (noon). SYBS has leagues for many ages levels, beginning with T-Ball for children entering Kindergarten in the fall. The leagues are as follows: Tball – (K – 1st Grades) Pinto – (2nd-3rd Grades) Boys – (4th – 11th grades) 9-10 – Mustang,11-12 – Bronco, 13-15 – Pony. Girls – (4th – 11th grades) 9-10, 11-12, 13-15. 25 Years Ago This Week Sullivan’s power outages were caused by high winds and ice, electric commissioner Jon England said. He said that Sullivan was currently buying about two-thirds of its power from CIPS because of the high price of natural gas, and when CIPS began experiencing problems throughout its territory, Sullivan decided to switch back to its own generators. The Powers School boiler gave up the ghost at almost the last minute last week. The Sullivan School District cancelled classes Thursday and Friday after the boiler gave out. LLC to Offer New Mental Health Resources to Students

2020 Moultrie County Final Multiplier Announced

•March 3, 2021• Moultrie County has been issued a final property assessment equalization factor of 1.0000, according to David Harris, Director of the Illinois Department of Revenue. The property assessment equalization factor, often called the “multiplier”, is the method used to achieve uniform property assessments among counties, as required by law. This equalization is particularly important because some of the state’s 6,600 local taxing districts overlap into two or more counties (e.g. school districts, junior college districts, fire protection districts). Sullivan Elementary School recently received 60 backpacks filled with school supplies through Amazon’s “Together, We Give Back to School” campaign. End of the Line Tackle & Bait, an Amazon delivery partner, nominated Sullivan Elementary for the program, and the school’s submission was selected to receive the donation. Pictured (left to right) are Cameron Martin, Taylor Lilly, James Martin, Marla Martin and Angela McRill following the July 27 delivery.
