OV Boys’ Basketball Posts Wins Against Decatur LSA, Argenta-Oreana

•February 24, 2021• by Jason Brown NP Sports The Okaw Valley boys’ basketball team improved its record to 6-1 overall and 5-0 in the Lincoln Prairie Conference with wins this week. The Timberwolves defeated Decatur LSA Friday and Argenta-Oreana Saturday. Okaw Valley wasted no time building a lead in the first quarter by outscoring AO 23-6. The leaders of the LPC did not look back in the 71-23 route. Three Timberwolves finished with double digit scoring. John Schwartz Due to complications with COPD, John R. Schwartz passed away Friday, February 19, 2021, in his home with family in League City, Texas. He was 70 years old. John and his wife, Marsha Diana Schwartz (Taylor) were residing at 230 Creekview Street, League City, Texas 77573. John has been reunited with his family in God’s Kingdom. They include his father and mother, Roger Schwartz and Jeanette “Granny” Schwartz (Pritts), and sisters, Peggy Greco Ipolito, and LouAnne Banks. A person can begin giving blood at 16 years of age (with parental consent), must weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good health. You may donate once every 56 days. According to redcrossblood.org, every two seconds someone in the United States needs blood as it is important for surgeries, cancer treatment, chronic illnesses and traumatic injuries. City Council Approves Agreement

“Together, We Give Back to School”

Sullivan Elementary School recently received 60 backpacks filled with school supplies through Amazon’s “Together, We Give Back to School” campaign. End of the Line Tackle & Bait, an Amazon delivery partner, nominated Sullivan Elementary for the program, and the school’s submission was selected to receive the donation. Pictured (left to right) are Cameron Martin, Taylor Lilly, James Martin, Marla Martin and Angela McRill following the July 27 delivery.
