Sullivan Boys’ Basketball Drops Game Against Shelbyville

•February 24, 2021• by Jason Brown NP Sports The Sullivan boys’ basketball team dropped a Central Illinois Conference game against Shelbyville Friday night. The Redskins fell behind 11-5 in the first and headed into the half behind 22-17. The Rams took advantage of a 14-7 third quarter run to extend their lead. Shelbyville held on from there for the eventual 54-48 win. Leyton Ellis scored a team-high 21 points, and Ian Plank tallied four steals, three assists, and 14 points. Last year he had informed the board of his plan to build an enclosed see-through bus stop shelter at Lovington Grade School. New Dialing Procedure for Customers within 217 Area Code

•February 24, 2021• The Illinois Commerce Commission (ICC) today reminded residential and business customers that, beginning February 27, 2021, mandatory dialing will occur where all local calls made within the Illinois 217 Area Code will have to be placed using the 10-digit telephone number (area code + the 7-digit telephone number). That day, the 447 area code will be added as an overlay to the region currently served by area code 217 to ensure a continuing supply of telephone numbers for the area. “Together, We Give Back to School”

Sullivan Elementary School recently received 60 backpacks filled with school supplies through Amazon’s “Together, We Give Back to School” campaign. End of the Line Tackle & Bait, an Amazon delivery partner, nominated Sullivan Elementary for the program, and the school’s submission was selected to receive the donation. Pictured (left to right) are Cameron Martin, Taylor Lilly, James Martin, Marla Martin and Angela McRill following the July 27 delivery.
