Lloyd Maurer Lloyd Henry Maurer 95, of DeKalb, Illinois, formerly of Sullivan, passed away peacefully Friday January 1, 2021 at Oakcrest Retirement Center in DeKalb. He was born December 19, 1925, in Decatur, Illinois and was the son of Carl I. and Nina M. (Obourn) Maurer. Lloyd enlisted in the Army Air Force in late 1943 and served two years during World War II in northern Africa at Casablanca, Morocco as an office assistant to headquarter officers. Lloyd married Helen L. Fahrnkopf September 11, 1949. Lloyd farmed in rural Sullivan for 40 years from 1950-1990. In 1990 he was named … Read More
