Fall Family Festival

•October 14, 2020• The Sullivan Civic Center will be hosting a Fall Family Festival on Saturday, October 17 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Wyman Park. Activities include a costume parade, hayrides, pumpkin painting, hot dogs, games, s’mores and more. 25 Years Ago This Week Recapturing the past is no easy task, as the large crowd attending the 1995 Lovington High School Homecoming learned Saturday night. The opening of a time capsule of World War II, a gift from the 1943 Future Farmers of America club at Lovington was a highlight of the homecoming banquet. The time capsule had been contained in a chunk of concrete recovered from an outdoor fireplace/barbecue pit built by the ‘43 FFA. University of Illinois Extension is hosting a six-part online series for youth ages 13 and older called Your Thoughts Matter. Sullivan High School Boys Cross County Takes Third At Home

The Redskins hosted the Sullivan Open at Sullivan High School Tuesday, Oct. 6, and then traveled to Clinton High School Cross Country Invitational Friday, Oct. 9. The Redskins placed third with 68 points in the Sullivan Open. Arthur-Lovington-Atwood-Hammond won the meet with 23 team points, and Tuscola placed second with 57 points. “Together, We Give Back to School”

Sullivan Elementary School recently received 60 backpacks filled with school supplies through Amazon’s “Together, We Give Back to School” campaign. End of the Line Tackle & Bait, an Amazon delivery partner, nominated Sullivan Elementary for the program, and the school’s submission was selected to receive the donation. Pictured (left to right) are Cameron Martin, Taylor Lilly, James Martin, Marla Martin and Angela McRill following the July 27 delivery.
